Design under the chandelier

In its 29th year of existence, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern continues to enjoy great popularity. Since the founding concert in 1990, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has developed into one of the largest classical music festivals in Germany. More than 190 concerts throughout the state attract visitors to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from June to September. The Rügen Festival-Spring in March and the Advent and New Year concerts in the winter months are further attractive elements of the festival year. Every year more than 90,000 classical music fans experience both young up-and-coming artists and the big stars of the classical music scene, whether in old manor houses, barns, factory buildings, castles and churches or in the open air. In addition to the music and exciting accompanying programmes, it is the incomparable lake, sea and coastal landscape and the more than 90 venues that make the events of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival a special experience. All in all, a proud record.

The management of the festival is based in the heart of Schwerin, not far from the lakes and the central Pfaffenteich. In keeping with the classical music mission, the employees work in very special rooms in the building of the 'Ersparnis Anstalt' from 1857. Stucco and colourful leaded windows are part of the good tone here. The obligatory chandeliers and parquet flooring also characterise the interior. And yet, we are dealing with a highly modern administration. Festivals on this scale are of course professionally managed. All departments, from ticket service to marketing, to programme makers and the artistic director are equipped with PALMBERG furniture. Behind the facade in neo-gothic style, a dedicated event team ensures that everything runs smoothly before, during and after the events.

As with the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the aim is to optimally combine old and new when furnishing historical buildings. The PALMBERG furniture with its restrained colouring and straightforward design are no foreign bodies here, but fit the rooms, the employees and their tasks. Furniture from the CREW, KONFERENZ, PRISMA 2, SINAC and Terio Plus series was used.
