Today’s production of quality products starts with the selection of high quality materials and a permanent inspection of its quality, including the guarantee of consistent traceability. In this way, Palmberg carefully accompanies its products throughout the entire production process from material procurement to the finished piece of office furniture. High quality standards and an environmentally conscious production are the basis for the durable Palmberg products.

In order to guarantee and ensure a continuously high quality level of its products also in the future, Quality Assurance Representative Mathias Schwaß, a native of Schwerin, has been responsible at Palmberg for permanent analysis, monitoring and evaluation of machined parts since 1 April 2015. After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Jena, he completed an 18-month internship, including a final graduation thesis on process optimisation and quality assurance at Palmberg. During this period, the foundation has already been laid for an even more professional level of quality assurance in the company. By specific measurement methods the developed system allows for monitoring the own manufactured parts and, secondly, for tracking irregularities on production machines producing the furniture parts. The Palmberg quality assurance representative and production staff members check different production parts based on a sample principle every day. After the measurements all data are entered online in a process control chart for keeping track. The data are then provided to the production manager and the master craftsmen to be able to react immediately in the case of deviations outside the tolerance or occurring problems, thus ensuring the usual Palmberg guarantee.

In addition to these implemented testing procedures, quality assurance will be further optimised from December 2015. By using an even more advanced test bench the quality inspection will no longer be carried out “by hand”, but through an optical measuring system (camera). This kind of quality assurance intends to meet not only our own expectations but above all those of our customers!
