PALMBERG Equips Office Complex ‘AIDA Home’ in Rostock!

AIDA Cruises is one of the most modern cruise companies on the German market. The fleet currently comprises ten modern cruisers which are operated according to highest international quality, environment and safety standards. With the erection of the new 10,500 square metre office complex in the city harbour of Rostock, the company continues its successful course of growth also ashore. The new construction 'AIDA Home', designed by the Rostock Architect Tilo Ries, consists of two connected buildings where creative features of the existing AIDA Office Complex Silo 4 & Silo 5 were taken up as well as typical design elements of the AIDA cruisers. Heart and centrepiece of communication is the light-flooded Theatrium in the entrance area which is spanning two floors and connecting the two 6 and 5-storey office buildings. Around 400 employees from different departments, such as Marketing, Sales and Human Resources, moved into the new office complex in October, 2014.

Concerning the equipment of the offices, which are predominantly facing the water, AIDA Cruises decided for cooperation with PALMBERG Büroeinrichtungen und Service GmbH. The decision was primarily based upon the same view on a modern office furniture solution as an essential catalyst for a contemporary corporate culture and upon the durability of the PALMBERG products.

“With the new building, we have set the course ashore for continuing our process of growth. The concept of ‘more space, more variety, more individuality’ not only characterises our new generation of ships, but was also filled with life when we built AIDA Home for the staff,” says AIDA President Michael Unger on the occasion of the opening.

For the AIDA decision makers it was of utmost importance that there would be an inspiring ambience meeting the requirements of the users. By a combination of workplaces from the CREW table family and different storage space elements from the series PRISMA 2 und ORGA PLUS, a friendly and high-quality working environment has been created in an open office layout. The use of the PALMBERG KIT-Bridges additionally underlines communicative exchange and promotes creative teamwork. By integrating the space division system TERIO, the office concept also allows for focusing on individual work. In the management area, PALMBERG was able to convince through the desk system PALMA. Besides the attractive appearance with its clear design and premium materials, the table system additionally impresses by an easy integration of latest conference technology.
